Koi wa shinutomo
Ichishiroku
Ironiwa ideji
Asagao go hana
I may toss and turn,
But even should I die from the longing
I shall not make it visible,
Reveal it in clear colors
Like the blossoms of the
Morning glory

“Without ambition one starts nothing. Without work one finishes nothing. The prize will not be sent to you. You have to win it. The man who knows how will always have a job. The man who also knows why will always be his boss. As to methods there may be a million and then some, but principles are few. The man who grasps principles can successfully select his own methods. The man who tries methods, ignoring principles, is sure to have trouble.”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson

“sometimes our expectations sell us short..sometimes the expected pales in comparison to the unexpected…wonder why we cling to them (the expected)…the expected keeps us going, standing, but the expected is just the beginning, the unexpected is what changes our lives.“

I am in love with pictures in my head that have yet to live or to be seen. I am in love with fantasies and the blue sky. I am in love with citrus-lemony pink life. I am in love with selfishness. But I am scared. I have spent too much time thinking and talking.
Maybe thats why, I dream something I never had imagined.
Maybe thats why, I hate assumptions.
Right now i am hearing what you wanna say, but i cannot make a sound. I know what you are feeling, but i cannot show my expressions. You make me feel happy, you make me feel sad. You cut me down and apologize. Dont I say ‘Let’s fly together‘.

English Translation
Heart it is, not a brick or stone
Why shouldn’t it feel the pain?
Let none tyrannize this heart
Or I shall cry again and again
Neither the temple, nor the mosque
Nor on someone’s door or porch
I await on the path where He will tread
Why others should compel me to go?
The illumined grace that lights up the heart
And glows like the midday sun
That Self that annihilates all sights
When then it hides in the mysterious net?
The amorous glance is the deadly dagger
And the arrows of emotions are fatal
Your image may be equally powerful
Why should it appear before you?
The rules of life and bonds of sorrow
In reality are the one manifestation
Before realizing the ultimate truth
How can then one attain liberation?
Love is laden with noble thoughts
Yet what remains is the carnal shame
Trust conscience the still little voice
Why do you want test the rival?
There the pride of modesty resides
Here dwells the social morality
How shall we meet, on which road
Why should he invite me to the abode?
True he is an atheist
Unfaithful and unchaste
Dear to who is faith and heart
Why should he then venture there?
Without the wretched “Ghalib”
Has any activity come to a halt?
What then is the need to cry?
What then is the need to brood?
Ghalib Mirza Asadullah Khan

Moral of the day:
`Don’t try and fix your weaknesses.
Just use your strengths to make up for them.’
And listening to Josh Groban as he sings ‘Remember When It Rained’. Beautiful!

Bak raha hoon junoon mein kya kya kuch,
Kuch na samjhe khuda kare koi..

I love to read poetry and Galib is one of my favourites.
I wonder how he mixed up the words and made them one. His poetry is really thoughtful. Sometimes its too difficult for me to understand but then thats where i find his work interesting. Here is his one of them. This is really beautifully written if you read it with your heart. So, here it is…
Ishq Mujhko Nahin, Vehshat Hi Sahi
If not love, then let it be madness
Meri Vehshat Teri Shohrat Hi Sahi
Even if my madness is your fame
Katta Keeje Na Taalluk Hamse
Don’t sever these ties with me
Kutch Nahin Hai To Adavat Hi Sahi
Even if nothing but enmity remains
Mere Hone Mein Hai Kya Rusvayee
What is this displeasure in my presence
Ae Veh Majlis Nahin Khallat Hi Sahi
If not in company, meet me in isolation
Hum Bhi Dushman To Nahin Hain Apne
I am also not my own enemy
Gair Ko Tujhse Mohabbat Hi Sahi
Even if they think it was a stranger who loved you
Apni Hasti He Se Ho Jo Kutch Ho
I am where my life wants to be
Aagahi Gar Nahin Gaflat Hi Sahi
If this is not known, then let ignorance be
Umr Harchand Ki Hai Barke-Kharam
Life speeds forward like lightening
Dil Ke Khoon Ki Fursat Hi Sahi
Even as there is infinite time for loving
Hum Koyee Tarqe-Vafa Karte Hain
Do I debate the value of loyalty?
Na Sahi Ishq Museebat Hi Sahi
If not love, then let the torment be
Kutch To De Ae Falke-Na-Insaaf
Give me something, unjust one
Aaho Fariyad Ki Rukhsat Hi Sahi
Present me the right to plea
Hum Bhi Tasleem Ki Khoo Dalenge
I will also perpetuate this ceremony
Benayazi Teri Aadat Hi Sahi
Even if cruelty is your habit
Yaar Se Chedh Chali Jaye ‘Asad’
The playfulness will end eventually
Gar Nahin Vasl To Hasrat Hi Sahi
If union is impossible, then let the desire be
-Galib-
